Today's Scenic Sunday post is of the iconic view of the 308 foot plunge of the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River from Artist Point. The spot has been a photographic pilgrimage of sorts since Ansel Adams made the Lower Falls famous with his 1941 image. These are my two favorite views taken from Artist Point.

I was thinking of putting a Yellowstone shot up today, but went to Yosemite instead. Maybe next week I will post a different shot I have in this area...I have on in mind!
It was very beautiful there. We had visited each side of the rim on different days (one in the night and one in the morning)...it was amazing how much the light made a difference in the photography.
Yes, these are classic. I've got a couple of shots from Artist's Point to put up sometime in the future, and also from the Iron Staircase where you can get much closer to the falls.
Those are some spectacular views : )
Beautiful shots! Both perspectives are so evocative; I especially like how you caught the movement and colors in the water in the first one. I've never been to Yellowstone... now I *really* want to go!
Quite beautiful! We went back to Yellowstone this past fall. So much beauty there!
Wow! Amazing photos. Looks like a wonderful place to visit.
A very rugged and awesome area... no wonder it is so popular.... Great pics.

Niiice! I was going to stop though Yellowstone in September but the week long forecast was plain crap so I scratched that plan. I haven't been there since 2007 - time to go back! Beautiful shots!
Brilliant photography blog you've got here! I'll keep an eye on.
Spectacular views! I was only there once and would like to spend more time there.
I saw the falls when I was 13, I was in awe.
I haven't been to Yellowstone but when I keep seeing great shots like these it edges upwards on my list.
I dream to see one day this beautiful points of view ! Very nice shots !
